One person has died and two others were hospitalized following a head-on collision Sunday night in Davis County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Iowa Highway 2, just east of West Grove. Authorities said a 2010 Buick Enclave was traveling west in the eastbound lane when it collided head-on with a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was heading east.
Emergency crews transported the drivers of both vehicles along with a passenger from the Buick to a nearby hospital. Officials later confirmed that the driver of the Buick died from injuries at the hospital.
Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved, and the crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine the circumstances that led to the vehicle traveling in the wrong lane.
