Police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at a LongHorn Steakhouse in the Castleton area of Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the restaurant around 8:49 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting inside the busy location. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, but he later died from his injuries.
Investigators said the shooting began after a disturbance in the lobby of the restaurant involving the victim and several other individuals. During the confrontation, one of the people involved pulled out a handgun and opened fire.
Police later detained three persons of interest at a nearby Jimmy John’s while investigating the incident.
IMPD Night Watch Captain Rob Rider said officers believe the individuals may be connected to the shooting, though detectives were still working to confirm their involvement.
Authorities also noted that the restaurant was fairly busy at the time of the shooting, which caused a chaotic scene as multiple police units responded to the area.

As of now:
- The Marion County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the victim as 24-year-old Justin Hignite.
