An investigation is underway after an 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Hammersmith, according to the Metropolitan Police.
Police said officers were called to a residential address on Lena Gardens at approximately 6:00 p.m. Sunday following reports of a stabbing.
When emergency crews arrived, they found two men suffering from stab wounds. The 18-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by the London Ambulance Service.
A second man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to a hospital with injuries. Police later arrested him on suspicion of murder, and authorities said he remains in stable condition. He will be taken into police custody once he is discharged from the hospital.
Investigators believe the suspect and the victim were known to each other, and officials are currently treating the incident as an isolated case.
Superintendent Pali Grewal said police are focused on supporting the victim’s family during this difficult time and acknowledged the incident would be distressing for residents in the area. A crime scene remains in place as detectives continue their investigation.
Authorities confirmed that a post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing are ongoing.
