A 27-year-old woman has died after a vehicle crash early Saturday morning in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Authorities said the crash happened around 1:15 a.m. on the westbound lanes of Interstate 35 near San Pedro Avenue and the intersection with North Main Avenue.
Police said the woman was driving a Honda when the vehicle drifted over the curb on the upper level of the highway. The car then left the roadway and fell from the upper level onto the lower lanes of I-35.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the driver died from her injuries. Authorities have not yet released her identity pending notification of family members.
The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
